The feature of the LifePO4 Battery:
The experiment of overdischarge to zero voltage was carried out with the lithium iron phosphate battery 26650(3400mAh) .
Test Conditions: the 3400MAH 26650 battery was filled with 0.5 c charge rate, and then discharged with 1.0 c discharge rate to 0C battery voltage. The 0 V batteries were divided into two groups: one for 7 days and the other for 30 days, and then charged at 0.5 c and discharged at 1.0 c. Finally, the differences between two kinds of zero-voltage storage period are coared.
The result of the test is that the battery has no leakage after 7 days storage, the performance is good, the capacity is 100% ; after 30 days storage, the battery has no leakage, the performance is good, the capacity is 98% ; after 30 days storage, the battery does 3 times charge and discharge cycle, the capacity is restored to 100% .
This test shows that the battery even if there is over-discharge (even to 0V) , and stored for a certain time, the battery is not leakage, damage. It's a property that no other lithium-ion battery have.
